Project 3 mess

From site analysis to programmatic research to understanding climatology, I came up with a hodgepodge of process work in response to design the climatology research lab headquarters in New York City.

I investigated the nature of the public sphere and the field of science as not monolithic things, but consisting of multiple entities. There is a divide between these two realms due to the representation of data and the multiple translations that take place when it is passed between scientists and the publics. My strategy to fix this is to transform the lab into a public space, through a cross-programming system that mixes scientific and public spaces as well as creating a new type of wall structure.

Also, here is an idea of what presenting in front of a design jury feels like.
